i think i have climate controlling powers. i came back to two feet of snow and a whole lot of freezing cold last week. after two and a half weeks of wearing at most a light jacket and even occassionally running in shorts and a tank top on vacation, that was a shock to my system. so i asked for the snow to go away. a couple days later, the major meltdown started. a few days of rain and temps in the double digits resulted in a march/april-like vista out my window. a few patches of ice remained on the streets, but it was mostly just giant puddles. after slipping on one of those patches (not quite into a puddle but it may as well have been!) and totally muddifying my backside, i was *done* and pretty grumpy. plus my rain jacket had been taken out of commission (until i do laundry), so i had to dig through my camping gear to find a replacement. rain jacket in january? what?
well. sadly, (or perhaps not), my complaints brought the cold snap back. it's 2° outside now but with crazy winds of 32kph that make it *feel* like -7°! i don't doubt that more snow will be on the way.
maybe if i concentrate really hard on beachy sunshine, it'll feel like august. global warming, al gore says? pshhh. what does he know. it's all in my mind controlling powers.
